2019 RACE RULES

1. ORGANIZATION AND INFORMATION

The Leopodistic Amateur Sports Association, in collaboration with the Seniobike Amateur Sports Association and Outdoor & Trekking Store Ravenna-Faenza, is organizing the eighth edition of the "Wild Boar Trail" on Saturday 23 November and Sunday 24 November 2019 in Palazzuolo sul Senio (FI) "mountain race trail race in water and food self-sufficiency with an itinerary in the Apennine environment. The "Trail of the Boar" will take place over four distances: 90km with a positive drop of 6000 meters (92.5km d + 5458m), 60km with a positive drop of 4000 meters (62.5km d + 3410m), 30km with a positive height difference of 2000 meters ( 29.1km d + 1514m) and 15Km with positive vertical drop of 800 meters (15.2km d + 898m). Distances and gradients have been detected through the use of maps of the territory and with the aid of GPS equipment, so there may be differences with surveys performed with other equipment due, for example, to calibration differences.


 

2. PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

To participate in the race, experience and knowledge of the mountain environment in general and the Apennine environment are required, as well as orientation skills, following a path, facing unexpected problems typical of the natural mountain environment (such as a thunderstorm, reduced visibility, or darkness), excellent training and appropriate clothing at a temperature that can range from -10 to +20 degrees. It is advisable to have participated in other long races in the mountains with characteristics similar to the one chosen in recent times. The "Trail of the Boar" will take place in accordance with this Regulation and any changes and / or directives adopted by the organization, even at the last minute. Any notices will be made available on the website and through the "Social" channels of the event. Presenting themselves at the start, the athlete confirms that he is in such physical and mental condition that he can face the race; to have documented and be aware of the risks and difficulties that the path entails; to have taken note of the length of the course and the difficulties that this race in nature implies; that he is not aware of any previous medical condition, or of injuries that could put him at risk during the event; to have communicated to the race doctor any health information and / or pathology that could increase the risks during the event.


 

3. DEPARTURE TIMES

Departures are scheduled in Palazzuolo sul Senio (FI) in Piazza IV Novembre in the following
 km 15: saturday 23 novembre H 10,00
 km 30: saturday 23 novembre H 08,00
 km 60: saturday 23 novembre H 07,00
 km 90: saturday 23 novembre H 05,00

Before departure, each athlete must pass under the arch of the start recording their presence (the chip should be placed only on the shoe / ankle). Checkpoints will be located along the route. Inside the gym in Palazzuolo sul Senio (FI) there will be rooms used as locker rooms and there will be indications for storing bags. Although the area is supervised, the organization cannot be held responsible for any valuables left inside the bags. It is therefore advisable not to leave anything of value inside the bags.

 

4. REGISTRATION

All registered UISP, FIDAL or Sports Promotion Body athletes (EPS) with enrollments expiring no earlier than 23 November 2019, or non-registered athletes, in possession of an Agonistic Medical Certificate for Athletics Trail Running valid on the day of the race (ie valid on November 24, 2019)
.
Registrations will close on November 17th 2019 or upon reaching the maximum number of participants, divided as follows:
km 15: 200 participants
km 30: 350 participants
km 60: 200 participants
km 90: 200 participants
Possible increase or decrease of the maximum number of participants it is at the sole discretion of the organization. Registrations can be made: - at the "Outdoor & Trekking Store" store in Ravenna on Via Trieste 48 / A and Faenza (RA) in the course of Europa 96; - online following the instructions that can be found on the website of the event. Participation in the competition implies, by the athletes, the unreserved acceptance of this regulation in all its parts


 

5. REGISTRATION FEES

The registration fee includes the following services: • race number bib; • chip; • assistance and refreshments along the route; • race package; • meal voucher after the race (for the 15 km distance it can be purchased on the day of the race); • showers; • massages; The chip must be returned on arrival, or following possible withdrawal of the athlete; in case of failure to return the chip, the athlete will be required to pay the chip cost of € 10, plus any costs incurred for the return


 

6. WAIVER

If an athlete demonstrates, by submitting a special medical certificate by October 20, 2019, the impossibility to participate in the race due to unexpected physical impediments, the organization will recognize 50% of the amount paid, with the exception of registration costs or, upon request, will transfer the registration to the next edition. After this date no refund is allowed. 7. PECTOR COLLECTION AND RACE PACKAGE The bib and race package withdrawal operations for all distances will take place at the gym in Palazzuolo sul Senio (FI) in via Quadalto 20 on 22 November 2019 from 15.00 to 21.00 and on the morning of the race, 23 November, from 4: 15 up to 30 minutes before the departure time of each single race. 

Race packages can only be picked up on the dates and times indicated in the regulation. Any shipping requests will not be considered, not even against payment of shipping costs.


 

8. BRIEFING

The day before departure, November 22nd, at the premises of the Palazzuolo sul Senio (FI) gym, via Quadalto 20, the briefing for the 90km race will be held at 18:00.

For all the other races, it will take place on November 23rd, at the starting area,
respectively at 7:45 am for the
30km race and at 6:45 am for the 60km race.
As for the 15km race, the briefing will take place at the departure area at 9:45 am.

Any changes in the time of the briefing will be communicated on the website and through the "Social" channels of the event. 
The paths are marked with flags and refractive arrows the light so that they are visible even at night. The kilometers are not marked and in this regard it is advisable to study well the road book prepared by the organization. Competitors must strictly comply with the competition route and if they do not see any sign for 300 meters they will have to go back. Removal from the official route, in addition to entailing disqualification from the order of arrival, will be at the sole risk and danger of the competitor. It is strongly recommended to use a GPS device and track the race, which will be provided by the organization the days before the event. No copy of the route, roadbook or track card will be given to the athletes with bib numbers.



 

10. MODIFICATIONS OF THE PATH AND / OR OF THE TIME BARRIERS

The organization reserves the right to modify at any time the route or location of the rescue stations and refreshment points, without prior notice. In the event of bad weather conditions, or for safety reasons, we reserve the right to suspend, interrupt or modify the route of the current race or change the time barriers, in collaboration with the judges of the race. Every decision taken by the organization and the jury of the race is final.

11. CANCELLATION OF TENDER

In case of interruption or cancellation of the race due to weather conditions, or for any other reason beyond the organization, even in the days prior to the race, no refund will be due to the participants. 

12. SECURITY AND CONTROL

On the way there will be members of the organization and judges in constant contact with the base and control points will be set up, where the passages of the athletes will be monitored. In addition, the broom service will be active. The competitor has the obligation to communicate, in case of problems, his withdrawal to the control points, or to the judges of the competition. Telephone coverage is not guaranteed throughout the area.


 

13. ENVIRONMENT

The race takes place in natural environments and protected ecosystems. Competitors must behave in an environmentally friendly manner, avoiding waste, collecting flowers or harassing the fauna. Anyone will be surprised to leave litter along the way and will be disqualified from the race and will incur penalties. To reduce the environmental impact, plastic cups will not be provided at the refreshment points, so each competitor must bring a cup or a glass to fill at the refreshment points.



 

14. MANDATORY MATERIAL

KM 90 - KM 60

 Water bag, bottle holder and ecotazza (there will be no glasses at the refreshment points);
 race bib with clearly visible number carried in the front part of the athlete;
 whistle;
 survival cloth;
 trail shoes;
 head lamp with spare batteries;
 taped waterproof jacket (minimum 10,000 mm water columns, type gore-tex);
 race chips;
 mobile phone with stored organization number and charged batteries;
 solid foods in sufficient quantity to reach the next refreshment point;
 1 liter of water at the start

KM 30
 Water bag, bottle holder and ecotazza (there will be no glasses at the refreshment points);
 race bib with clearly visible number carried in the front part of the athlete;
 whistle;
 survival cloth;
 trail shoes;
 taped waterproof jacket (minimum 10,000 mm water columns, gore-tex type)
 race chips;
 mobile phone with stored organization number and charged batteries;
 solid foods in sufficient quantity to reach the next refreshment point;
 ½ liter of water on departure

KM 15
 Water bag, bottle holder and ecotazza (there will be no glasses at the refreshment points);
 race bib with clearly visible number carried in the front part of the athlete;
 whistle;
 survival cloth;
 trail shoes;
 race chips;
 mobile phone with stored organization number and charged batteries;
 solid foods in sufficient quantity to reach the next refreshment point;
 ½ liter of water on departure in the event of adverse weather conditions;

The use of sticks is permitted, which, if used, will be carried with them for the duration of the race. THE MANDATORY MATERIAL MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE ENTIRE PATH OF THE RACE. Checkpoints for the compulsory surprise material along the route will also be installed, and additional chip boards will be placed, which will monitor your passages.

 

15. DISQUALIFICATIONS AND PENALTIES

Disqualification is foreseen for the following infractions failure to pass from a control point - cut of the race course - abandonment of waste on the course - failure to rescue one competitor in difficulty - insults or threats to organizers or volunteers - refusal to submit to mandatory material check - lack of parts of the mandatory material

17. RISTORI

It runs in semi-self-sufficiency with the obligation of water supply. Refreshments are planned with solid and liquid foods.

 

18. CHANGE OF RACES, TRANSFER OF REGISTRATION, BIB TRANSFER

By 17 November 2019 it will be possible to request the passage of your registration from one race to another: if the passage is requested for a longer distance it will be necessary to integrate the difference of the registration cost. Any differences due to requests for transfer to a race with a shorter distance will not be reimbursed. The bib will be transferred to another athlete only with the authorization of the organization as long as the receiving athlete meets the requirements for registration. The transfer must be requested by the transferor, no later than November 17, 2019 exclusively via e-mail to the address iscrizionitraildelcinghiale@gmail.com Requests made in other ways will not be taken into consideration. Unauthorized transfers will result in disqualification for both athletes involved. The bib transfer costs Euro 10.00
Any requests to transfer your registration to subsequent events will be assessed individually by the organization. They must still be received no later than November 17, 2019 by e-mail to the address iscrizionitraildelcinghiale@gmail.com. Requests made in other ways will not be taken into consideration.


 

19. PRIZES

There are no cash prizes. Each competitor who has completed the race within the maximum time will receive the "finisher" prize.
The first 3 absolute of the 30Km, 60Km and 90Km races will be awarded,

the first 3 men and the first 3 women of the 15Km race will also be awarded:

- Km 90: first 3 men "under 50" and first 3 women "under 50" plus the first 2 men "over 50" and the first 2 women "over 50".

- Km 60: first 3 men "under 50" and first 3 women "under 50" plus the first 2 men "over 50" and first 2 women "over 50"

- Km 30: first 3 men "under 50" and first 3 women "under 50" plus the first 2 men "over 50" and first 2 women "over 50"
- Top three most numerous groups Additional prizes will be available at the discretion of the organization.

Prizes not collected during the various award ceremonies will not be sent in any way.

20. COMPLAINTS

Any complaints, accompanied by a deposit of Euro 100.00, must be submitted within 30 minutes from the end of the competition and in writing and will be evaluated by the organization; in case of
acceptance the deposit will be returned. 

21. IMAGE RIGHTS

By registering, the competitors authorize the organization to use, without territorial limits or time limits, still and moving images that portray them on the occasion of participation in the "Trail of the Boar". 22. DECLARATION OF RESPONSIBILITY Enrollment in the "Trail of the Boar" and the consequent participation in the race entails the acceptance of this regulation and any changes made. The registration of the participant exempts the organizers from any responsibility, both civil and criminal, for damages to people and / or things caused by him or to him derived.
